There have been controversial advices regarding fats.  All should be taken in moderation since fat is essential in the body for proper functioning. As it is on other types of food, too much can be harmful while too little may cause health complications, the same also applies to the fats.

Omega oils are the great and are have great purpose to the body. Coconut oil has been said to be a bad fruit since the oil is saturated in fats. Saturated fats are not good for the health especially when one needs to lose weight. But in the case of the coconut it can actually help one lose weight. The coconut oil help in stimulating the metabolism which is good for burning calories thus helps one in losing the weight.

Saturated fats are not bad for the body but need to be taken in moderation. These fats make up 50% of the cell membranes and are responsible in giving them the firmness and integrity. It is also a vital player in the bone health. 50% of the fats should be saturated so that calcium can be incorporated in the right way to the skeletal structure. The saturated fats are also good at protecting the liver from toxic effects of alcohol and other drugs.

The coconut as mentioned earlier has many vital benefits. They were used in traditional healing around the world. It cured some health problems such as abscesses, asthma, baldness, bronchitis, bruises, burns and other numerous health complications.

Most of the saturated and unsaturated fats are made of Long Chain Fatty Acids (LCFA) but the coconut has the Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFA). The medium chain fatty acids are good since they do not oxidize on heating making it favorable for cooking, protect the heart against diseases and the arteries do not harden.

Benefits found in the omega 3 oils are also numerous. The fats are found in nuts and also fish. Research has proven that the fats are good in improving the functions of the brain and the memory. It is also good to adults and children who suffer from ADD or ADHD.

The omega 3 oils have three amino acids: Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA). They are good to the brain and the overall well being of the body.
